clarify

so i went to bed earlier last night...and even though i tossed & turned, i do feel better today! i'm going to try to stick to that schedule mon.- thurs. nights.

next item, clutter. it stands to reason if your home is cluttered, your mind is cluttered. the physical clutter is just easier to tackle in an immediate satisfaction kind of way.

we all do it...let things pile up. the happiness project offers a query that i never considered...why?

i considered just one of my clutter items- paperwork- bills, insurance stuff, coupons, etc. i let these pile up until it's unbearable stack that takes an hour to file. why? well, once i gave it some thought, i realized that my file cabinet is behind a big cushy chair in my bedroom. the big cushy chair is where i pile pillows from my bed at night. therefore to access the file cabinet, i have to move the pillows and then the chair. not to mention, i sort through papers at my desk or dining table in the living room, not my bedroom. so i'm adding 3 extra steps that makes it more of a pain than it already is. and adding extra steps to something i dread to start with isn't going to help me deal with it.

the same could be applied to shoes...i don't put them up because i have to find a place to put them. i've kept too many that i never wear that are already at home in their spot and never move. they need to get the boot (pun intended) before the others can be put away.

light bulb.

i have always cleaned out my closet once or twice a year, but never thought about the why before. i do it to make things simpler. wouldn't it make sense that the clutter in my mind would work the same way- get rid of the negative thoughts, worries, etc. to be able to deal with the real stuff?

sounds like some rearranging is in order.

  1. And by the way, I like where this is going. I may need to borrow that book.
