i'm not superstitious usually, but am finding it particularly unlucky that trying snowboarding is number 13 by total coincidence. i have skied twice in my life- both times disastrous, although amusing in hindsight. if you haven't heard the "alicia attempts to ski in the alps" story from kim, be sure to ask her after a couple glasses of wine.
nevertheless, i wanted to give a snow sport one more shot (maybe since it's been a decade since i've made an attempt). hence, snowboarding. i've taken the first step in making some progress here- planning a trip! i'm thinking go big or go home- my first attempt at snowboarding will take place in vail in march. with places to crash in both vail and denver, dates chosen, and skilled ski bunny chaperones lined up- the last major hurdle (aside from avoiding falling off a mountain) is to buy the plane ticket. i'm keeping an eye on the fares. until then...
